Frequently Asked Questions

What will we be doing each day?

Each day will be filled with an exciting assortment of food, fun and farms. We eat, enjoy, and encourage your inner cuisine, while being immersed in learning the culture, and history, of heirloom sustainable farming food practices.

Who comes on these trips?

Couples, singles, women, men, families, all ages, all walks of life - who are interested in purposeful learning and living. What we offer is appealing, anyone can join the discovery process.

What if I'm a novice cook?

We love to share our own journey, and have plenty of patience . . . and what better place for you to be?

What if we do not drink wine or alcohol?

The program is primarily planned to feature wine alternatives, and generally you will be served non-alcoholic beverages, with wine as an option to purchase in some locations. We do visit wineries and provide opportunities to learn and taste the regional wines.

Do Professional cooks come?

Yes, to best understand the lifestyle & culture of the cuisine. Recipes and technique aren't everything, one must understand experience terrior (tasting the distinction & flavor of the earth) along with the history. The atmosphere that has been nurtured throughout its growth will in turn feed your soul.

What if I don't cook at all, but I love food and travel?

That is exactly what Discover Heirloom Cuisine is all about! The love of food and travel; reach your hand out to the world. Someone will be there to put a treasure into it. You will be fed on many levels, relax, smile and enjoy!

What if I'm single?

Take a personal journey in a group with others on the same path. Leave your loneliness at the door. Individual program prices are available.

May I bring my family?

Yes, absolutely! We offer a family program during our regular schedule. In addition, many families choose to focus a reunion event around our programs. We do offer custom group programs scheduled exclusively around your group, perfect for variety of ages, so contact us with your questions.

Do you offer shipping for purchases made?

Yes! Many of our guests purchase exclusive items to the region of discovery; gourmet ciders, wine, jelly. Shipping your items home will be available through program services.

Are there any additional costs to be aware of?

All meals, and program transportation will be provided. You may want extra spending money for souvenirs, and optional free time activities.

We enjoy having wine with our food, will there be regional wines?

Our program features many artisan producers, and wonderful wine comes from our region. We will visit 2 wineries, with tasting and purchase opportunities throughout the program.

When should I arrive from out of country?

Fly into Seattle on Monday, and stay the night ahead. We recommend this for many reasons, (you don?t want to miss classes if you?re jet-lagged, best to break up the legs of your trip. Those that arrive directly from their home-country without taking a break (a down-day inside Washington) nearly always fall behind, a false economy if ever there was one.

How is Discover Heirloom unique?

We promise full immersion into heirloom cuisine culture and lifestyle. Each course will offer you an experience like no other, delightful and delicious. You will join the fastest growing travel interest, of culinary vacations worldwide. Guaranteed to fill your senses with taste, touch, smell, as you reflect, connect with the present, past and future, and designed to follow the footsteps of farmers.

Yes, we do offer a 2nd Adult non class reservation. Please contact us for current rates & reservations for spouses and guests who choose to attend with you. This is available only for week long programs and vary with seasonal features.
